192.168.50.2 - Settings explained (browser-translatable text)

The CarlinKit 192.168.50.2 webpage has 2 versions: the new version features a blue user interface (UI) with a sense of technology, while the old version has a pure white UI.

NEW UI

Home (Home Page)

Bluetooth : Displays the name of the Bluetooth signal emitted by the product after normal recognition

WiFi : Shows the name of the WiFi signal emitted by the product after normal recognition

Software Ver (Software Version) : Displays the current software version information of the product.

Hardware Ver (Hardware Version) : Hardware version of the product; the version contains some hardware information of the product and a description of the hardware version number

Initial Ver (Initial Version) : Initial software version number installed in the product at manufacturing time, not the same as the manufacturing date.

Devices

Devices: This page is used to manage the records of mobile phones connected to the current product; you can delete a specific record or all records. Tap the "X" next to the phone records to delete the selected records.

Help

Car Brand : Information about the car brand entered by the user when first accessing the web backend

Car Model : Information about the car model entered by the user when first logging into the web backend

Car Years (Car Year) : Car year information entered by the user when first logging into the web backend

Feedback: If you encounter a problem during use, after reproducing the problem, you can click here to enter a problem description and upload the log (after the problem, upload the log in a safe situation, do not disconnect the product, otherwise the log will be lost)

Specifled Ver (Specific Version): It was originally intended to change the product UI to other product-specific UIs, but it currently does not work. (Intended to work with U2W series products)

Check Update : Checks if new product versions are available for updating.

Rollback : Click to downgrade your product's firmware to the previous stable version. If the update causes issues that weren't present before, you can try downgrading as a workaround.

Settings

Sync Mode: In some cars that support CarPlay media display on the dashboard, if the media information isn't displayed correctly after using the product, you can change the sync mode to try to resolve the issue. You can also change it on models that don't recognize the product; the product will only take effect after being disconnected and reconnected.

Background: The product UI is not displayed by default. Try enabling this option if, in some cars, the screen displays a black screen after connecting to the phone.

Car model : Change the initial car model setting

Auto Connect : Option to enable/disable automatic connection of the product to the phone

Category : After connecting the product to play music or other multimedia content, if the car's head unit (ACU) experiences lag or noise, you can change the media audio quality to try to resolve the issue. After making the change, the product must be reconnected for the change to take effect.

Call Quality : If, after connecting your product, the call quality is noisy or otherwise abnormal compared to a direct CarPlay connection, you can try changing the call quality option to "HD" or "standard." (Only works on products with the CarPlay upscaling feature.)

Knob Mode : You can switch between normal mode and full-select mode.
Normal mode: This is the standard mode, where the knob cannot select options in the bottom navigation bar of the Android Auto interface.
Full-select mode: This is the mode in which the knob can select any item in the Android Auto interface. Some car control units may not support this second mode, which may result in a loss of touch control. (This feature only works on products that support Android Auto; it does not work on A2A products.)

Video Resolution : Sets the screen resolution information

Media Delay : Frame rate for synchronized screen refresh of the product connected to the phone. If there is a noticeable delay after connecting, you can adjust this parameter (set the frame rate to 20 if the delay is noticeable).

DPI : Adjusts the size of function icons displayed in the Android Auto interface. (Only works on products that support Android Auto; does not work on the A2A product interface.)

Video Bit Rate :

  • Change video bitrate for phone mirroring
  • The lower the bitrate you set, the smoother the video will be
  • When the video has lag and delays, it is recommended to set the bitrate below 8Mbps.
  • Set the bitrate to 8Mbps or less; the higher the bitrate, the more stable the video image will be.
  • The higher the setting, the more stable the video image will be. You can try
  • Set the bitrate to 8Mbps or more to improve quality

Start Delay: Sets the delay in communicating with the original car after the product is powered on. If, after entering the car, you need to unplug and replug the product for it to recognize you, try adjusting this parameter accordingly.

GPS : Sets whether to use the car's GPS or not. Try this option if you experience navigation drift after connecting to your phone.

Device Language : This is only used to set the language of the text displayed on the product's connection interface. After connecting to your phone, the language of the text on the interface will match that of your phone.

WiFi Band : Set 2.4GHz/5GHz; can solve the problem that some phones can't detect the product's WiFi

Car Logo : Change the car logo image in the CarPlay or Android Auto interface; supports custom logos

Modify WiFi Name : Change the names of your WiFi and Bluetooth

Modify Device Name : Change the product name displayed in the CarPlay device list of the car control unit

Reset : Restores the product to the state immediately after updating to this version and deletes all connection records. The product's current software version will not change during the factory reset.

Equipment Management

Auto-connect: Option to enable/disable automatic connection of the box to the phone

Media Delay: Adjusts the media sound delay time; the default is 1000 ms, with a useful range of 300-2000 ms. The longer the delay, the less likely lag; the shorter the delay, the more synchronized the music will be with the picture. This setting depends on the car's network environment; adjust it accordingly based on the actual situation. Adjusting it is not recommended unless there are any abnormalities.
