How to Remove a Ball Head and Replace It with a Quick-Release Mount

If you need to remove the ball head and shock base, follow the steps below:

Removing the Ball Head:

• The ball head and shock absorber base are pre-installed and secured with thread lock glue, making them very tight.
• If you try to unscrew it by hand or with a regular wrench, it may not come out easily.
• Thread glue must be heated to soften before removal.

Steps:

1. First, remove the ball head mount from the base.
2. Wrap a dry towel around the ball head or wear heat-resistant gloves to hold it in place.
3. Use a heat gun or lighter to heat the screw that connects the ball head to the shock base.
4. After heating for a few moments, use a hex wrench to unscrew the bolt.

Quick Release Mount Installation:

Once the ball head and the shock absorber base are separated:

1. Unscrew the screws of the quick-release bracket.
2. Secure the thinner part of the quick-release unit to the base using the screws.
3. Attach the thicker part to the ball head and the body of the holder.
4. After assembly, align both parts of the quick-release bracket on the same plane and slide them horizontally to join them together and complete the installation.

To disassemble the quick-release bracket:

• Press and hold the red button, then slide the two parts in opposite directions along the same plane to separate them.
